Some of Fuerteventura's most popular museums include the Archaeology Museum - which celebrates the island's history, the Alcogida Eco-Museum - a recreation of historic Fuerteventura village life, and the Cuevo De Llanos Visitor Centre and Museum - featuring naturally formed volcanic caves.

An authentic recreation of rural village life on Fuerteventura, the Ecomuseo de La Alcogida is located in the island's Tefia region, to the west of Puerto del Rosario. Featuring seven traditional homes, museum highlights include a bakery, pottery making, farmyard animals, camel rides, workshops, games, seasonal events, and many attractions specifically aimed at children of all ages, with costumed 'inhabitants' and commentary in various languages.

Dedicated to the rich archaeology on Fuerteventura island, this notable museum is split into three distinct sections, with archaeology, ethnographic and paleontology areas, together with many other exhibitions. Standing in Betancuria, once the island's capital, this museum features five spacious halls and contains many important local artefacts, archaeological treasures, scale models and historic rural farming equipment.

Celebrating the life of famous philosopher Migual de Unamuno, who once stayed in this house for a short period of time, the Casa Museum de Unamuno is without doubt one of Puerto del Rosario's highlights. With period features and antique furniture, the house includes a number of Unamuno's personal belongings.

Home to a simple collection of interesting artefacts from Guanche times, together with a number of antiques, the Casa Museo de Betancuria is a popular attraction in this part of Fuerteventura. Also connected to the museum, the Betancuria Craft Centre is the perfect place to find quality souvenirs and local gifts.

One of the oldest, largest and most important volcanic caves in Fuerteventura, the Cuevo De Llanos Visitor Centre offers regular guided tours throughout the day, with the caves accessible only by a volcanic tube (jameo). The museum concentrates on a number of related themes, including how these caves were formed, the ecosystem and life in the caves, and the general evolution of the area. Other attractions include a gift store, coffee shop and exhibition room.

Fuerteventura Museums: La Cilla Museum of Grains (Museo de Casa de la Cilla) - La Oliva, Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, Spain
Standing in a historic house which was built in the early 19th century, Fuerteventura's La Cilla Museum is dedicated to the history and heritage of the island's traditional farming industry. With a host of antique farming tools and equipment, the museum also features information about different grains, local produce and old farming techniques.
